ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
Following the departure of Raphael Varane this summer, Erik ten Hag is looking to freshen things up in defence at Manchester United. Yoro is admired by many clubs across Europe, but the Red Devils and Real Madrid appear to be the two main suitors, according to Le Parisien.

THE EXPLANATION
European champions Madrid are keen on 18-year-old Yoro, but are unwilling to meet Lille's valuation of the youngster. This has opened the door for United, who have more cash to splash on the defender. Additionally, the Ligue 1 side have ruled out selling to rivals, effectively cutting Paris Saint-Germain out of the race, despite their attempts to lure Yoro to the capital in January. Liverpool are also said to retain their interest but are not as advanced in negotiations for the defender.

DID YOU KNOW?
Yoro made 44 appearances in all competitions for Lille last season. He scored three goals, including two in Ligue 1, and helped his side finish fourth, 17 points off domestic winners Paris Saint-Germain.

WHAT NEXT FOR YORO?
Yoro is said to be keen on a move to Real Madrid, but he may have to wait another year for that to materialise. His contract is set to expire in 2025, which would allow him the freedom of choice to pick his next club. However, his short deal may allow for Man Utd to swoop in this summer and sign him, as it may be Lille's last chance to get a big fee for their prospect.
