  • WHAT HAPPENED?

In his press conference ahead of his side's FA Cup clash with Burnley on Friday, Tottenham boss Postecoglou was asked if he could ever "picture yourself lifting trophies?" In typical Ange fashion, the Australian coach reminded the journalist that he has won plenty of silverware in his career so far.

  • WHAT POSTECOGLOU SAID ABOUT WINNING TROPHIES

Postecoglou said: "I've got real pictures, mate. There are quite a few. I just look at the ones I've got.

"I love winning, mate, that's all I've done my whole career. That's what drives me. Every year I start the year hoping that, by the end of the year there is a picture of me with the team and holding a trophy. That's what I've tried to do my whole career and I've got plenty of evidence of that. So that's what my intent is here. It's not something I have to visualise; it's what I do."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Tottenham were surprise Premier League leaders in September, but their form fell away as they endured a winless November and a mixed December. Now six points behind table-toppers Liverpool and already out of the Carabao Cup, the FA Cup could be Spurs' only realistic hope of lifting a trophy for the first time since 2008.

Postecoglou certainly knows how to win silverware. He led Yokohama F.Marinos to the J-League title in 2019, before winning two SPL titles, two Scottish League Cups and one Scottish Cup during two seasons in charge of Celtic.
