According to , Milan are in the process of tying their keeper to a new deal, with his current terms expiring in 2026. The report states the 28-year-old wants to double his salary, which would take him to a pay package in the ballpark of forward Leao, who reportedly earns €7 million (£6m/$8m) a year.

French international Maignan has become an important player for Milan since joining from Lille in 2021. He played a key role in helping them win Serie A in 2022, with the stopper winning the Best Goalkeeper award in the division that season.
